Beppe
Mangione is an electronic music producer and musician
based in Tuscany, Italy. Mangione has collaborated
for the past several years with Lorenzo Brusci’s
avant-garde music collective Timet as composer and
producer, which in recent years has received critical
acclaim as one of Italy’s most ambitious contemporary
musical groups. In particular evidence throughout the
Group’s work are Mangione1s careful attention
toward rhythmic structures and sound processing techniques.
His major efforts for Timet include Carne
capitata (2001), Colazione
con la pietra (1998), Quadri
di schermo vivo (1997). The group has performed with such artists
as Elliot
Sharp, Zeena
Parkins, Ikue
Mori, Ares Tavolazzi
and Stefano
Bollani. He has created original music
for art installations and experimental films, as well
as for television and industrial videos. Mangione is
presently composing an original music score for Sicilian
Stories by Italian-American filmmaker Gia Amella, which
will combine Sicilian folk and contemporary music.
