Photography,

He has been working in contemporary art since early
'70.
Giacomo has a wide range of cultural references, from
the '900 avant-garde to a recent techno-aesthetic research
on automation techniques.
In late 2003 He joined the research group TIMET, designing
for and with them sophisticated sonic objects (domain
he started to explore in the '70, finding now in Timet
a new stimulus to go further).
He is a strenuous supporter of the artistic activity
as an almost scientific type of research, ironically
rigorous and pataphysique at the same time. He thinks
of art as a interlinguistic instrument, able to improve
the ontological-perceptive awareness of reality and
of its implied social constructions.
The formal rigor of some of his works, specially in
photography, alternates to free and chaotic expressionistic
results (see the recent sonic objects designed for
Timet).
"
...my analogue and empirical perception is facing the
artistic work as a violent crash against the matter,
in a constant synthesis of action and reflection...".
